Frequently Asked Questions
What are your shop hours? 12 noon 6pm (Eastern Time Zone) (aka GMT minus 5 hrs) and are open Mon - Fri. We are closed weekends.
I want to learn to knit. Do you give lessons? Yes, we give machine knitting lessons. Machine kinitting lessons are $15 per lesson and are one-on-one. Usually it takes 4 lessons for a beginnning knitter to feel comfortable knitting alone.
Will you ship to me? I live out of state. Yes, we ship to any of the 50 states and some international sales in countries. We ship almost exclusively by USPS Priority Mail in the USA and First Class International / International Priority Mail depending on weight and value.
Do you repair knitting machines? We do some G-carriage repairs, but unfortunately knitting machines are easily damaged by the carriers plus, parts are difficult to find for all knitting machines. Many repair parts are just not available. We do sell the most common parts such as needles and sponge bars plus a few othe small parts. We may be able to help you repair your own machine. We have a page called "Kniting Machine Help" which is loaded with repair hints. Call us if you have some special problem with your knitting machine or G-carriage, we may be able to troubeshoot the problem for you.
Do you sell used knitting machines? Yes, we do but are very selective as to what we sell. We clean and inspect any pre-owned part or machine that we sell and do everything possible to insure a good operating machine that we feel will give you years of service.
Will you buy my machine? Not usually. We will help you find a buyer for your machine and will handle the transaction for you but we must have a buyer before we can sell it. Machines that are old or that have been damaged are usually not saleable. We may be able to help you sell your machine but we are selective and may charge a fee for this. The fee depends on the machine value and condition. Your pre-owned machine must be in salable condition without any known flaws or defects other than cosmetics. It must work and knit without problems.
